SCHEDULE YOUR BENTLEY WRAPHOW CREWE PAINT BEHAVES UNDER FILM
The film is the easy part. Knowing what is underneath it is the job.
Bentley paint is not built like volume paint. Panels get colour, then a heavy clear, then hours of hand flatting and polishing before the body ever meets the interior. The result is a clear coat that is thick, hard, and almost free of orange peel. That is good news for adhesion, because cast vinyl and paint protection film both grip a smooth, high-solids clear better than they grip a textured one. It is bad news for sloppy prep. On a surface that flat, a single grain of trapped grit under the film reads as a raised dot from ten feet away, and there is no orange peel texture to hide it in. Every Bentley that goes in our bay gets a full decontamination and clay pass before a single panel is templated.
The other thing that thick clear does is forgive removal. Heat-led removal on original Crewe paint comes off clean, and adhesive residue lifts with a mild solvent and no aggression. The problem is never the factory finish. It is the panel that was refinished somewhere else. Aftermarket paint on a Bentley is usually a repair from a parking incident or a stone-damaged nose, and if it was shot thin or over marginal adhesion, film removal will find that weakness before you do. We read paint depth on anything that looks off, test a hidden corner, and tell you what we find before we start rather than after.
Older Continental GTs from the first and second generation are worth calling out separately. Twenty years of Florida sun does things to any clear coat, and a car that has been sitting outside in Orlando its whole life can have clear that is already on the edge. Film will not cause that failure, but it can reveal it on removal. If a car comes in with clear that is chalking or crazing, wrapping it is the wrong order of operations. Paint work comes first, and that conversation belongs with our Bentley collision and paint department.
PANEL GEOMETRY: WHERE A BENTLEY FIGHTS BACK
Superformed aluminum, long door skins, and a lot of polished stainless in the way.
The Continental GT front fender is the panel that separates people who wrap Bentleys from people who wrap cars. Bentley superforms it, heating aluminum sheet and forming it with pressure rather than stamping it, which is the only way to get that unbroken haunch over the front wheel with a radius that tight. For an installer that means one continuous piece of film has to travel a long compound curve, come over the top of the shoulder, and then fold into an arch lip with nowhere to hide a relief cut. Cast film with air release channels, generous heat, and a disciplined post-heat pass on every stretched inch of that arch is what keeps it down. Skip the post heat and Florida summer will pull it back off the lip inside a month.
The rear quarter is the same story on a bigger scale. On a Continental GT the rear haunch flares out over the wheel and then tucks back into the tail in one panel, and on a Flying Spur that shape sits at the end of a very long rear door. Long door skins are their own problem: the film has to be laid true across two feet of gentle crown without picking up a wave, then tucked into a shut line that runs the height of the door. The Flying Spur and Continental GT both use frameless glass, so the top edge of every door needs the window dropped, the film tucked into the channel, and a return that will not catch on the seal when the glass rises.
The Bentayga trades sharp curves for sheer area. The tailgate, the roof, and the rear quarters are large flat-ish surfaces where any imperfection in prep or any stretch mark in the film has plenty of room to show. It also carries the most trim of the range: roof rails, window surrounds, the matrix grille frame, the wing vents, and cladding around the arches. Every one of those is a place where the film either gets tucked properly behind removed trim or gets cut on the car, and cutting on the car is how paint gets scored. We take off what is designed to come off.
Then there is the coachline. Bentley applies it by hand, under the clear, running the length of the flank. It is not a decal and it cannot be masked around at the film stage. A wrap covers it and it reappears when the film comes off. If the line matters to you visually, either go clear PPF and keep it on display, or let us plot a matching stripe in vinyl over the top of the wrap. Nobody should be trimming film freehand alongside a hand-painted line on a Bentley.
BESPOKE AND COMMISSIONED PAINT
Bentley will paint a car essentially any colour a customer asks for. Beyond the standard palette, Mulliner commissions are matched to whatever the owner brings in, and the formula lives as a commissioned mix rather than as a code a local jobber can pull off a shelf. That changes the maths on wrapping in two directions.
First, it argues for film. A commissioned colour is the most valuable and least replaceable thing on the car, and clear paint protection film over it is the cheapest insurance there is against I-4 stone chips. Second, it raises the stakes on removal. Any panel that gets damaged during a film removal on a bespoke car is not a same-week respray, it is a colour-matching exercise with a spray-out card and a blend into adjacent panels. So we remove Bentley film with heat and patience, never with aggressive chemical strippers, and we peel at a shallow angle back on itself rather than lifting away from the paint.
Large-flake metallics and multi-layer candy finishes deserve a specific warning. They are common on commissioned Bentleys, they are beautiful, and they are the hardest finishes in the business to spot repair invisibly, because flake orientation changes with spray technique. If your car wears one, the right answer is almost always clear film over the original rather than a colour change that puts a removal operation in the car's future.

REALISTIC BENTLEY PRICING BANDS
Ranges, not quotes. A Bentley gets priced after we read the panels in person.
What moves a Bentley up its range: a Bentayga instead of a Continental GT, because area is area. A colour shift or textured film instead of a straight gloss, because those films are slower and less forgiving over the front arches. Brightwork that has to come off and go back on. Any previous refinish work that has to be assessed, corrected, or worked around. We would rather show you where your car sits in the range with the car in front of us than guess over the phone.
BENTLEY WRAP QUESTIONS
A full color change on a Continental GT or GTC generally lands between $6,000 and $9,500, a Flying Spur between $6,500 and $10,000, and a Bentayga between $6,500 and $10,500 because it carries the most surface area and the most trim to work around. Full body clear paint protection film runs roughly $8,000 to $14,000, a front end PPF package $2,500 to $4,500, and a chrome delete $800 to $2,000. These are ranges, not quotes. Film choice, whether the brightwork comes off, the condition of the existing paint, and how much of the car has been previously refinished all move the number, so we price a Bentley after we have it on the lift and can read the panels.
Not when the paint is original, sound, and properly prepared. The real risk with a Bentley is not the film, it is what happens if the paint underneath is not factory. Crewe paint is laid thick, flatted and polished by hand, and it holds cast film without complaint. A previous respray by another shop, especially one that was not fully cured or was shot over poor adhesion, can lift when film is pulled. That is why we read paint depth on any panel that looks refinished and test a low-visibility corner before committing. Bespoke and Mulliner colors matter here because they are commissioned mixes rather than an off-the-shelf code, so a damaged panel is not a quick respray. Keeping the original film-covered paint intact is the whole point.
The coachline is applied by hand at Crewe and it is under the clear, so a wrap simply covers it. It is still there when the film comes off. If you want the line visible on a wrapped car, we plot a matching stripe in vinyl and lay it over the wrap along the same path. Owners who want the painted line to stay visible usually go with clear PPF instead of a color change, which protects the stripe and leaves it on show. What we will not do is try to cut film around an existing coachline. A cut that close to a hand-painted line on a Bentley flank is not worth the risk.
The front fender. On the Continental GT it is a superformed aluminum panel, meaning it was heated and pressure-formed rather than pressed, which is how Bentley gets that unbroken haunch over the front wheel with a radius no stamped panel could hold. There is no seam to hide a relief cut in, so the film has to travel a long compound curve and then fold into a tight arch lip in one piece. Cast film with air release, a lot of heat, and a full post-heat pass on the arch is the only way it stays down. Film that gets stretched into that radius and is not post-heated will tunnel back off the lip within weeks in Florida heat. The rear shoulder on a Flying Spur is the same problem on a longer panel.
Gloss and satin, in that order. A Bentley is designed around a long, uninterrupted reflection running the length of the flank, and gloss or satin cast film keeps that reading intact. Matte flattens the shoulder line and, on panels this large, it shows every small wave in the sheet metal because there is no reflection to distract from it. Satin is the best compromise if you want a change of character without going flat, and it sits well against the polished brightwork. Color shift and chrome films are the ones we steer owners away from on a Continental GT. Those films have far less stretch, and the front fender arch is exactly where they crease.
For a proper job on the window surrounds, yes. Bentley uses a lot of polished stainless brightwork, and the gap between that trim and the painted panel is where a lazy install shows itself first. We remove what is designed to come off, tuck film behind it, and reinstall. Badges come off rather than getting cut around. Anything that is bonded or that risks damage on removal gets masked and the film gets a wrapped return into the shut line instead. If you are doing a chrome delete at the same time, the trim is off the car anyway and it is the cheapest time to do both.

I came home from vacation to find my (2) bikes and bike rack laying across the back of my Porsche 911 Turbo S. Thankfully, I found Corsa Automotive and they literally made it like it never even happened! Jaden was on top of it all the way and she and Ken got me fixed up so fast, I almost couldn’t believe it. My baby is back in the garage and there is no evidence of the offensive fender blemish.
