Insurance claim assistance for exotic collision repair in Orlando
An exotic claim is not a normal claim. Panels are aluminum, carbon or composite, parts come from Europe on their own schedule, and the calibration work after the bodywork is often the expensive part. The first estimate an adjuster writes is almost never the estimate the car needs, because most of the damage is still behind panels nobody has taken off yet. We write the file so the repair the vehicle actually needs is the repair that gets paid for.
How we work a claim
1. You choose the shop
Florida law lets you choose where your vehicle is repaired. Your insurer can recommend a shop. It cannot require one.
2. We document the damage
Photographs, measurements and a pre-repair scan before anything is disassembled, so the file reflects the vehicle as it arrived.
3. We write the estimate to published procedures
Operations are sourced from the manufacturer published repair procedures for that VIN, not from a generic labor guide.
4. We handle supplements
Teardown almost always finds damage the first estimate missed. We document it, price it and submit the supplement to your adjuster.
5. We verify before delivery
Post-repair scan, calibration where the vehicle requires it, alignment and a quality-control walk before you see the car.
Questions owners actually ask
- Do I have to use the shop my insurance company sends me to?
- No. You choose the repair facility. An insurer can recommend a shop from its network, and it can decline to pay above what it considers a reasonable amount, but the choice of shop is yours.
- What happens when the insurer approves less than the repair costs?
- We document the difference and submit it as a supplement, with photographs, measurements and the published procedure that calls for the operation. Most exotic claims settle across two or three supplements rather than one estimate.
- Who pays for the calibration work after the bodywork?
- It goes to the carrier on the same claim, listed as its own operation rather than folded into shop time, with the manufacturer procedure that requires it attached. Carriers do decline calibration lines, usually as not necessary or already included. When that happens we resubmit with the procedure for that specific VIN, and that resolves most of them. If a carrier still refuses, the decision is yours: pay for the calibration yourself, or take the car with that system uncalibrated. We will tell you plainly which systems those are and what they do, and we put the refusal in writing in your file so there is a record of who declined it and when.
- How long does an exotic collision claim take?
- The bodywork is rarely what sets the timeline. Parts availability from Europe is, and a single backordered structural part can hold a car longer than the rest of the repair combined. We tell you the part situation as soon as teardown is done rather than at the end.
Claims we handle by marque
Each marque page covers the panel construction and the calibration work that vehicle requires, which is the part of the estimate adjusters most often leave short.
